About Blake

Blake studied English at Connecticut College before beginning his teaching career at The Bishop's School, an elite preparatory school in La Jolla, California. He later pursued an MPhil in Human Ecology at College of the Atlantic (COA) in Bar Harbor, Maine, where he was awarded a full scholarship to teach and help run the writing center.

Upon graduating, he was hired as associate director of the writing center and later promoted to director. During his years at COA, he taught literature, composition, and creative writing, working one-on-one with students across every discipline—from science writing to fiction—leading tutorials, supervising independent studies, and guiding senior projects.

He is also a working writer whose short stories have appeared in literary journals including the Santa Monica Review, Cream City Review, and Louisiana Literature. He has attended the Sewanee Writers' Conference and is currently completing his first novel.

At The Sovereign Wayfarer, Blake brings to every client the same depth of attention he has brought to writers throughout his career—not as someone who fixes writing, but as someone who understands how writers grow.
